WELCOME
The purpose of the Annie L. Awbrey Public Library is to provide quality library service to all citizens of Roanoke and Randolph County through the development of the library’s collection, public relations effective staffing and cooperation with the Cheaha Regional Library. HISTORY The library began in 1934 by the Roanoke Literacy Club. Each member had to bring two books apiece for club dues. The books were housed in a corner in Martin's Clothing Store downtown. Later on the books were moved into a corner in the front of the high school gymnasium. In 1972 the library moved into its current residence. In 1992 the building was remodeled, adding a brand new meeting room and wall-to-wall windows. SERVICES
POLICIES To apply for a Library Card and become a patron you will need, a picture I.D. Also proof of residence in Randolph County is necessary for the librarian to issue a card. An application card must be filled out and placed on file.
