History

In 1976, the old Farmers & Merchants Bank building was used to house the city library.  Mrs. Hazel Perry and Mrs. Peggy Smith spend long hours beginning the cataloging of books that were donated by the Regional Library.

Since the early days of 1976 to this day the library has been utilized well by the citizens of Lineville.  As of now approximately 300 adult and 200 juvenile library cards have been issued.  Visits to the library by patrons is now approximately 100 per week.  We expect continued growth and success of this most important facility in our city.
