History
Established in March of 1975, Lincoln Public Library was located in the City Hall. In 1981, the current building was built and the library is now located in the city's business complex.

Preeschool Story Hour:

Policies
Public Library Use Policy:
- Material may be borrowed by anyone who has a valid library card from the Lincoln Public Library.
- A parent or guardian must sign for a child who is under 17 years of age. The parent or guardian is responsible for the materials and overdue fines.
- Patrons must have their own card to check out their books. No charge for original card, but $6.00 for a replacement card.
- A picture ID is required.
- Books may be borrowed for a two week period and may be rechecked if there is no waiting list.
- First check out is limited to one book.
- No food or drinks allowed in the library.
- Overdue fines are $.10 per day/per book.
- The patron is responsible for all materials checked out on their card.
Internet Policies:
Rules and Regulations for Responsible Use
- A current LPL card in good standing will be required in order to obtain access to the computers. There is no charge for your initial card however, replacement cards are $5.00 each.
- Time limit is 45 mins
- Patrons are not allowed to touch or change cables and other settings on the computer.
- We do not allow personal floppy discs. If you need to save a file we offer new discs at cost. Once these discs leave the library they cannot be brought back.
- LPL will not assume any responsibility for damages, direct or indirect, (e.g. hacking) arising from use of electronic services, including the Internet. Users will be held financially responsible for any damage to computer hardware or software.
- Users agree to pay for all pages they print. This charge is to cover equipment use and supplies.
Unacceptable Use Examples:
- Violation of another user's privacy
- Unauthorized use of computer accounts, access codes, or network ID numbers
- Damaging or altering software or hardware
- Violation of copyright laws or software license restrictions
- Violation of computer system security
- Attempting to modify or gain unauthorized access to files, passwords, or data belonging to others
- Sending, receiving, or displaying text or graphics which may reasonably be construed as obscene, threatening or harassing
